Harvey accepted an invitation from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services to be one of two Commonwealth’s Attorney’s to be part of a workshop on Gangs in Virginia: Status and Solutions. The workshop was part of Blueprints for Change: Criminal Justice Policy Issues in Virginia.
The meeting, held July 19 in the State Capitol Building in Richmond, included several sheriffs, state legislators, state police, chiefs of police, and U.S. Department of Justice gang experts. The workshop will issue a report and build upon the suggestions contributed in formulating strategies to combat gang recruitment and activity.
