It was a great Friday — a Jury convicted and sentenced a murderer to life plus 53 years for a vicious crime committed in September of 2005. This is why we need a victims speedy trial act from our legislature. Also, VBPD’s Police and Citizens Public Service Awards ceremony was an inspiration to all of us who attended as 25 citizens and 37 officers were given awards.
