Tuesday night, August 4, was National Night Out for our neighborhoods, an annual event Harvey has joined for years in Va.Beach, including when he was a federal prosecutor. Neighborhoods are encouraged to show their stand against crime by coming together to celebrate their solidarity. Last week, Harvey attended the Police Department planning meeting with representatives from over 25 neighborhoods. Harvey shared the celebration with several neighborhoods, including Red Mill Farms, where a large crowd of families heard from Harvey and Councilman Bill Desteph about the importance individual homes play in detecting, preventing and reporting criminal activity. Thanks to Pastor Steve Swisher, Civic League President, for the warm reception and excellent organization!

Mayor Sessoms and Harvey were able to meet a lot of folks, and hear a lot of compliments about the successful fight against crime in Va.Beach. Green Run Seniors, you rock,and I’m grateful for you! Thursday night Donna and Harvey were honored to observe the Sheriff’s Academy graduation. It was a full house at the Law Enforcement Training Academy! Harvey enjoyed meeting the new deputies and their families. Chaplain Steve, keep up the great work of providing spiritual guidance to the inmates, and thank you for your wonderful prayers. State Delegate Pauls Miller, great speech ,and congratulations on being the Va. Association of Sheriffs legislator of the year, an honor shared with VB Senator and candidate for Sheriff Ken Stolle. Ken is one of many state and local officials endorsing Harvey’s reelection. They understand the critical importance of tested and proven experience for the top prosecutor in Va.’s largest city.
