Harvey L. Bryant, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach, announced that a grand jury meeting in Virginia Beach Circuit Court today returned indictments against 63 individuals charging 137 separate offenses. Among the offenses were 16 firearm charges, 17 grand larcenies, 8 burglaries, and 4 robberies.
“My office aggressively prosecutes individuals who threaten public safety by using firearms in the commission of crimes such as robberies and burglaries,” Bryant said. “I do not allow plea bargaining on the charges involving the illegal use of firearms.”
The grand jury returned indictments against 5 individuals for Driving Under the Influence. Those individuals are:
